Object: Framed Lithograph

Location: Actors Theatre of Louisville. Atl has produced three of my plays in their Humana Festival of New Plays.

My object is a framed reproduction of an original, turn-of-the-century antique lithograph. The lithograph is titled “Supense.” It depicts a little girl sitting on her bed with a dog and a cat and an array of treats. I bought it when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old as a gift for my mother. I think it was a birthday gift. It’s the first time I ever remember seeing something in the store, thinking it would be a good gift, and then going back to the store at a later date to buy the gift. It might even be the first gift I remember giving. I’m not sure if she liked the gift. She probably did. But

I think I told myself that she was indiffernt to it, and when I was in my 20’s, I stole it back. Now the picture hangs over my bed.
